Oregon’s Plastic Pollution and Recycling Modernization Act (RMA) will improve recycling. The law was officially enacted July 1 and created a new system that shares the cost of recycling. Local governments, recycling companies and the producers of packaging and paper products will all help fund recycling programs.

Lane County residents may not notice changes to recycling services immediately, but they should know about some upcoming improvements. For example, plastic yogurt containers, rigid plant pots, buckets, and some food and beverage cartons are now recyclable at Lane County Transfer Stations and with many curbside recyclers!
