Brushing and flossing are essential, but what your family eats every day also helps build strong, healthy teeth. The right foods can naturally clean, strengthen and protect your smiles.

Dairy: Milk, cheese and yogurt are rich in calcium and phosphates, minerals that help rebuild enamel and keep teeth strong. Cheese also boosts saliva flow, which naturally washes away acids that cause cavities.

Crunchy fruits and veggies: Apples, carrots and celery act like gentle toothbrushes. Their crunch stimulates saliva, which neutralizes acids and removes food particles.

Leafy greens: Spinach, kale and collard greens are full of calcium, folic acid and vitamins A and C, all important for healthy gums and enamel.

Nuts and seeds: Almonds, sunflower seeds and sesame seeds provide calcium, magnesium and healthy fats that strengthen enamel and support gum health.

Crunchy whole grains: Whole-grain breads, oats and brown rice contain B vitamins and iron, which promote strong gums and reduce inflammation.

Tap water for the win: Water rinses away food debris and, if fluoridated, helps remineralize enamel for extra protection.
