Special Needs Trusts can protect your child’s future

My son has disabilities. Thinking about what would happen to him if something should happen to me was overwhelming and the primary reason I put off my own estate planning for far too long. After working with a lawyer years ago to come up with a plan I felt good about, I realized how much easier I could sleep at night.
I now help my own clients create plans for their children’s future. For families like mine, a traditional estate plan isn’t enough (although I prepare those, too!). Without the right legal tools in place, assets intended for your child (whether a minor or an adult) could disrupt their eligibility for essential benefits like Medicaid and SSI. Special Needs Trusts help protect your child’s financial future, allowing them to live an enriched life, without putting public support at risk.
This planning isn’t about fear — it’s about love, legacy and peace of mind. I’m here to guide my clients through every step.
