Summer is the season of sunshine, sticky fingers and the constant refrain of, “Mom, I’m bored.” But fear not, as healthy habits are possible, even amidst the chaos:

  • First, hydrate. A giant, colorful water bottle is your new best friend (and a weapon against rogue water balloon fights).

  • Sneak in movement. Challenge the kids to a silliest dance contest — trust me, you’ll burn calories laughing.

  • Snack smart. Pack portable, healthy treats. If you hide a few dark chocolate squares for yourself, I won’t tell.

  • Embrace the grill: Vegetables and lean protein are your friends.

  • Find peace: Me-time isn’t a luxury, it’s survival. Even five minutes of deep breathing in the bathroom (with the door locked) counts.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, a health coach can be your summer sanity saver. We help you navigate the snack minefield, create realistic fitness goals and remind you it’s okay to hide in the pantry with a popsicle. We are armed with practical tips and a healthy dose of humor. Embrace the chaos, find your joy and remember: a happy mom is a healthy mom.
