When one of our patients gets their braces off, we have a celebration. We play the Celebration song by Kool & the Gang, of course, and pop party poppers. Patients get a bag with caramel or cheese popcorn and an instant photo — their first one with their braces off.
Amidst all these festivities, however, we emphasize the importance of wearing retainers as directed, to maintain their beautiful result. Retaining your result is as important as the effort you put into getting there. We recommend our patients wear their retainers indefinitely; that is, as long as they want to retain the result they received at the end of their orthodontic treatment.
We offer a Lifetime Retainer Program, because patients lose their retainers in a hundred different ways (we get it — that’s life!). With this program, a patient can purchase a replacement for $25 per retainer. Without the program, a replacement costs $225. It’s well worth it to enroll…and keep celebrating those good times.
