Trying something new

Among the many reasons why summer day camps are great for kids: the chance to try something new in a safe, supported environment. Some children jump right in at the chance to try a new activity, and some are more cautious. Our staff is trained to support them in whatever a child’s approach may be.
For instance, with our rock climbing activity, a child who can’t wait to clamber up grows their patience as they learn important safety skills and technique. For a more hesitant child, gentle encouragement from our staff can give them the boost they need to try the wall themselves.
No matter what the activity, trying something new builds self-confidence. At Kidspirit, we’re able to offer a wide range of activities that broadens a child’s world, be it in archery, basketball, crafts, swimming, cooking, gymnastics and more.
We regularly see children take a chance on a new activity and find themselves surprised by how much they enjoy it. It’s a good reminder for us adults, too, that diverse experiences are well worth exploring.
