Making toothbrushing fun
It can be challenging to get your child get in the habit of brushing twice daily for at least two minutes each time, but a little creativity can go a long way. Some helpful tips and tricks to make brushing fun and engaging…

Music and media
Play official tracks like the American Dental Association (ADA) Brush and Floss Playlist. Or, use use kid-friendly interactive apps that show a character cleaning their teeth alongside your child.
Rewards and visuals
Give a favorite toy or stuffed animal its own pretend toothbrush so your child can clean the toy’s teeth at the same time. Ask your child to make goofy faces in front of the mirror to reach hard-to-see spots.
Let your child choose
Brushing can be more fun when you have toothpaste with cool stripes or sparkles and a brush in your favorite color (look for products with the ADA Seal of Acceptance). Fluoride toothpaste comes in lots of flavors, so your child will have plenty of cavity-fighting choices.
Brush with them
Thirty minutes after a meal or before bed, brush side-by-side with your children. They learn from you, so this is the perfect way to model a healthy routine. The family that brushes together has even more reason to smile.
