Family-friendly festivals await you

If you’re already planning family-friendly events for the year (and many moms are), put Sisters’ vibrant festivals on your list.

Kick off the summer in June with two fantastic options. First, the iconic Sisters Rodeo offers a thrilling, educational experience in Western heritage. Later in the month, the Big Ponderoo Music & Arts Festival offers a more relaxed vibe in the picturesque Village Green. Imagine listening to incredible Americana and bluegrass under the pines while the kids explore artisan booths.

In July, prepare to be amazed by the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show, the world’s largest, which transforms the streets into a colorful, inspiring gallery. It’s a wonderful way to introduce children to beautiful craftsmanship and community art.

As the air turns crisp, the three-day Sisters Folk Festival in the fall fills the town with music, offering intimate, unpretentious venues for everyone to enjoy folk, blues and more. Finally, the October Sisters Harvest Faire is a cozy marketplace for handmade goods, fresh produce and cider.

Get your kids off their screens, and put a weekend in Sisters on your family calendars. It’s beautiful out here.
