When families ask us where to look in Bend, we always start with the same question: What does your ideal day look like? Because as a mom, your home isn’t just where you live, it’s how you live. Here are three communities where families are truly thriving.
Petrosa: Private Pool, Co-Working Space + Park Access
On Bend’s northeast side, Petrosa is the master-planned community that checks every box. It’s an easy bike ride to Pine Nursery Park and a quick drive to some of Bend’s best shopping and dining (we love On Tap!). And the amenities are top notch: the private pool and splash pad are some of the best in town, and homeowners also have access to a clubhouse, fitness center, fire pit and coworking space. The community is also home to Fieldstone Park (managed by Bend Park & Rec) and includes plenty of green spaces and paved trails for exploring as a family.
Westside Meadows: Nostalgic Charm + Modern Convenience
This community, known locally as “the Wine Streets” because many streets are named after wine, feels nostalgic in all the best ways. Quiet streets where kids ride bikes freely, and five-minute access to both Shevlin Park and Discovery Park (two Bend favorites). This neighborhood has a tight-knit community feel while proximity to Northwest Crossing and top-rated local schools make daily life feel seamless.
River Canyon Estates: Sledding, Swimming + River Trail Access
River Canyon Estates might be most famous for “The Pit” — the go-to sledding spot for
neighborhood kids when the snow falls. It’s also home to a large pool and wading pool, clubhouse, fitness center and tennis courts. Easy, neighborhood access to the Deschutes River Trail means you can sneak in a run before work or take the whole family out for a bike ride on the weekend. With walkable access to schools, shops and dining, parents love the balance of resort amenities and everyday practicality.
