Catch the Circus April 3rd

Before the bunny comes to town, make sure your kids get a chance to meet the elephants! In a few days the Jordan World Circus will be in the Tri-Cities for a show before heading to western Washington.

The Jordan World Circus, one of North America's premier traveling circuses, is owned and produced by Jody Jordan of Las Vegas, Nevada. Exciting two-hour shows are presented on annual tours from coast to coast and border to border by local Shrine Centers and clubs, police and fire associations, civic clubs and organizations, merchant associations, local presenters and venues, and fairs, festivals, parks and the like.

Catch the Jordan World Circus on Tuesday, April 3rd, at the TRAC Arena in Pasco at 4 pm or 7:30 pm. Tickets are available at TheJordanWorldCircus.com.

Do You Like Green Eggs & Ham?

In honor of St. Patrick's Day here's a recipe for Green Eggs and Ham:

Ingredients
1-2 tablespoons of butter or margarine
4 slices of ham
8 eggs
2 tablespoons of milk
1-2 drops of green food coloring
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of pepper
What You'll Need: knife, medium-size mixing bowl, wire whisk or eggbeater, large frying pan, spatula, aluminum foil, serving plates.

1. Melt a teaspoon of butter in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add sliced ham and brown until edges are slightly crisp. Remove the ham from the pan, cover with aluminum foil, and set aside.
2. In a medium-size mixing bowl, combine the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Beat with a whisk until frothy. Then add 1-2 drops of green food coloring until you reach the desired shade of green.
3. Heat a tablespoon of butter or margarine in a large frying pan over medium until the butter begins to sizzle. Then add the egg mixture to the pan.
4. Stir the egg mixture with a spatula until the eggs are firm and not too runny.
5. Transfer the eggs to individual plates. Garnish with a sprig of parsley. Add the ham prepared earlier. Serve with toast or warm rolls.

Meet Cinderella and her friends!

The Mid-Columbia Musical Theatre (formerly Richland Light Opera Company) is pleased to announce its spring production of Cinderella on March 23, 24, 31 and April 1, 2012.

The group has been in rehearsal since January 3rd and can't wait to perform! This is a show for the entire family to see together!

Expression from the Spectrum

Washington State University Tri-Cities and the Carson Kolzig Foundation present Expression from the Spectrum, an artistic showcase of the creativity and talent of local artists on the autism spectrum.

Artists are invited to exhibit their art on Thursday, April 26th, 4:30 - 6:00 at the WSU Tri-Cities CIC Art Gallery.

Submissions Details:

  • Entries must be the original work of the artist
  • Entries will be accepted from children and adults of all ages on the autism spectrum
  • Accepted medias are oils, watercolors, acrylics, pastels, mixed media, pottery, photography, and sculpture
  • Copies, prints, computer generated art or offensive work will not be accepted
  • Deadline for application is April 13th. Art must be delivered to the Responding to Autism Center and include a completed application
