A mini-makeover for me!

In the spirit of MOM Makeover, I decided on a whim to have a little mini-makeover myself....I went from being a blonde to this:IMG_8039

If it wasn't for the beautiful and sunny weather we've been having, I would try to convince you that it was just a natural seasonal shift in my hair color, but I don't think I'm going to get away with that... :)  It's a couple shades darker than my natural, and I kinda like the change. I'll go lighter again I'm sure, but it's fun for now. Thank you to the lovely ladies at Epic Day Spa for doing such a great job!

Do you color your hair? Why or why not? Comment by 9 a.m. Monday March 8th and I'll pick one random person to win an awesome shampoo and conditioner set kindly donated by our MOM Makeover sponsors, Heartspring Wellness Center & Samaritan Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

My answer? I do (obviously) color my hair - my natural color is a mousey brown color, and all though I do have some natural blonde highlights, the overall color is pretty dull. I like having nice, fresh color - it makes me feel like a new person!

Don't forget to nominate a deserving MOM for our makeover HERE!

    I DO color my hair.

My natural hair color is a dull/dark brown. I have tried platinum blond to nearly black and everything in between. I love switching things up but always come back to a light brown with lots of red and blond highlights.

Super cute color Krista - makes your eyes very sparkly!

I do not color my hair. I could never get used to the idea of having to keep up with it and who likes having different color roots? I guess I just like being a brunette or maybe I am too lazy to keep up with the required maintenance =)

I DO color my hair. I guess the technical name for the process is highlighting. In my case it's heavy blond highlights. My natural color is a dirty, golden kind of blond. But, as I am getting older it's turning more brown. It's a long appointment when I go to the salon, BUT well worth it. For weeks after, I feel like a new person. I wish I could go and get my hair done as often as I should, but having long hair, it kind of costs a small fortune...not to mention finding someone to watch our 3 kids for 3 plus hours!!

Never colored the hair. But I did get a perm once... yikes!

    You look great Krista!
I didn't color my hair until I started getting gray hairs sprouting. Now I do like to highlight and color. But I do feel chained to it and that's frustrating. If I wait too long, you can tell. It's just so hard to sit still that long!

I am now 58 and had colored by hair for years. The cost and the time it has taken to keep it up I am sure would amount to thousands of dollars. Last year my hairdresser said "let's grow it out." I was skeptical but started the process. Over a 6 to 12 month period of time we have gradually let the gray grow out in my hair. I can honestly say I have had more compliments on how beautiful my gray hair is than I had before I went through this process. Don't be afraid to try something new.

Super cute Krista! I do color my hair or else I would look like an old haggard woman. :-)

I don't color my hair currently, but have in the past and always think about going back to it. I love how color gives you a new look and can add some freshness when your getting tired of your cut, but its a bit too spendy for me to do regularly and I'm scared of grow out.

I don't color my hair. I actually like my hair color and it grows too fast to worry about the upkeep. I only get my haircut once every 6 months or so anyway as it is. I have done a nonpermanent red dye once or twice but it just makes my hair look darker.

I do highlight my (mousy) brown hair blonde every 10 weeks or so. I had strawberry blonde hair growing up but around 17 it started turning brown. I dyed my hair red a few years back and loved it for a few months ... then went back to blonde eventually. I may do it for fun again someday.

I love your new color!! I DO color my hair. I had bright blond hair as a kiddo and it has gotten progressively darker as I have gotten older. I started lightening it (all around, not just highlights) after college and people are shocked when I tell them because it really does fit my complexion better than a darker color. Plus, when I see a lighter color in my hair it reminds me of summer- my favorite season!

I have to color my hair because I have premature grey hair!

At 56, I feel very blessed that I don't HAVE to color my hair. Don't know how long that will last though. I have thought of doing highlights at some point.

I only started coloring my hair a few years back when my natural red hair started darkening and coming in brown. I loe my red hair, so now my colorist has developed a beautiful shade of auburn that looks like my natural color. (And it hides some gray coming in!) I like the brunette Krista - your blue eyes really pop. When are we going to see you as a redhead?

I color my hair to hide the gray! The gray in my brown hair makes it look quite dull, so love being able to add some golden or auburn tones. I want my hair to look as young as I feel!

I have been coloring my hair since I was 16 because that is when I started to get grey hair.

Hi Krista! It's been awhile but I still want to comment! The new color looks great on you - it looks very natural. I have never dyed my hair but someday I would like to. Lately I've had the desire to go blond!

I am CONSTANTLY being accused of dyeing my hair because I am 51 and have only a few grays! It's because I know how to eat.... hemp hearts , super greens, zeolyte... NO DAIRY - etc! I teach my methods, actually, people get paid to join my network and learn.

It is known that cash can make us disembarrass. But how to act when one has no money? The one way is to try to get the home loans and college loan.

  24. Posted Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at 4:01:50 PM

Do you acknowledge that it is the best time to receive the loan, which would help you.
