Not that I do not have enough to do I have signed up for
NaNoWriMo this year! No, it is not the latest Pokemon
character or a fancy name for the Flu. NaNoWriMo stands for
National Novel Writing Month. And that month happens to be
November. I am not sure why they pick November since it
happens to have a Holiday in it but they do.
The goal is to write a novel in 30 days. Well, a 50,000
word novel to be exact. You can do research for characters,
locations, history, etc. but you can not start writing until
12:01 a.m. on Nov 1st and you must complete your manuscript and
upload it to their site by November 30th for a word count. If
you make it you get a certificate. Which might not seem like
much but to writers it says you slammed out a book in 30
days....YOU ROCK!!!!

I have been wanting to write a book for quite a while now and
have done a little dabbling here and there. I wanted to get
on the NaNoWriMo bandwagon last year but missed it by 2 weeks and
didn't think I could write a novel in 15 days. So, I signed
up early this year and then got some friends to sign up with
me...so we can all be terribly busy at the same time....I secretly
did it so their houses would look as bad as mine by the end and
then I wouldn't feel so bad....LOL!!!!!!!
So, NaNoWriMo kicked off this morning and the only thing I
have written in as article for the next issue of MOM Magazine
and this blog.... I have a busy afternoon with meetings and
proposals....I might just be up late...but I am going to get the
first 1,666.666667 words in if it kills me....
Who knows...you might just be reading my novel by the time I'm
done...then again I may be blogging in the middle of the night when
I have writer's block looking for ideas....
Feel free to send me notes now and then asking me if I have
written anything...I think I will need all the help I can
get!
