This week I am working on my portion control. Portion
control goes both ways - for me it is so important because I
usually don't get enough. This makes my body go into survival
mode and store fats. It also doesn't help my metabolism -
which we are trying to get working again. So when I skip
meals or don't eat what is recommended by my program - I am
sabotaging my weight loss.
My program has certain amounts of a wide variety of selected
food groups for each meal breakfast, Lunch, dinner, and
snacks. My consultant Hannah provides me with a list of
portion recommendations for me to choose from (Protein,
Fruit/Starch, and Vegetables) - so for example a lunch would be; 4
ounces Protein, 8 ounces of uncooked vegetables (which is a lot
salad) and something from the fruit/starch, and a protein
supplement.
When I don't follow these recommendations I don't get the
results - simple as that. And last week I didn't do my
measuring and I didn't get the results. So this week I am
getting back to measuring and putting me first when my life gets
crazy taking time to plan meals ahead of time.
