I never thought I would do this but after what I accomplished last year, I think a little TLC my way is in the making. I returned to school after 15 yrs to complete my Associate Degree in Nursing (RN). My clinicals sent me to Washington to drive back and forth twice a week for 2 1/2 month clinicals. I was blessed to have my husband home for half of that time. I passed the NCLEX boards September, 2010. Meanwhile, my husband whom is away 18 days a month and two wonderful children ages 7 and 9 adjusted to my study needs and I adjusted into the "you can do it all " mode by keeping up with kids school work (son had 4 book reports in 3rd grade), piano, violin, karate, Kumon, Treasurer for sons cub scout pack and volunteered in kids classes and field trips, started my Mary Kay business and not to mention all that it takes to hold the fort up while hubby was away for work. I was so blessed to have a group of wonderful ladies to support me along the way. I took a short break and am back in school (round 3) to go for my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree through Linfield College along with working part-time and all of the above plus adding kids basketball and soccer. When will I ever rest? I am sure there are many mom's out there in similar situations and I say...make time for yourself each day and dates with hubby.
