Jamie deserves this nomination more than anyone that I know. Jamie is a fellow preemie mom like me of two wonderful little ones, Peyton and Slayde. Her first son was born at 28 weeks and came into this world as his mom began having her first seizure. Peyton is now an adorable kindergartener melting everyone's heart where ever he goes. Doctors felt that the seizure was contributed to her early delivery. Almost one year later Jamie had a series of more unexplainable seizures. On Peyton's 1st birthday she finally had a doctor that discovered that she had brain cancer. The operation was successful and after months of therapy made a full recovery. Fast forward to 2009...Jamie gets pregnant with her second son Slayde who arrives way too early into this world weighing just barely 1 1/2 pounds. Slayde undergoes surgery and many months in the NICU before returning home and is now a beautiful and happy toddler. Jamie has taken her experience and turned it into a mission to provide support to fellow NICU parents. She is on the Riverbend NICU Advisory board and spends countless hours providing email and talks to women experiencing the depths of the NICU. I am lucky to also have Jamie as a team member on our annual March for Babies team to raise money for prematurity awareness and prevention. Jamie is an extraorinary woman that needs this makeover. Over two weeks ago Jamie was hit with a double tragedy as her father in law and grandmother both passed on the same day. Jamie has remained strong for her husband and sons, but could use a day to be pampered and beautified. Please vote for Jamie as she would love to have this makeover.
