I would like to nominate my mom Evelyn Begin for your mom makeover 2011. My mother deserves a makeover for so many reasons, I will try and share just a few. Growing up my mom not only was a mother to her four children but also to our friends. As we grew older and gave her grandchildren …9 to be exact…she also mothered them. My mom is always doing without so she can give to us and our children. Over the years she has babysat for our children, taught them manners that we didn’t even think to teach them, sat with them while they were sick so we could go to work, driven them to practices, loaned them money, and when my sister had premature twins she was there day and night to help her with these very small precious babies. That alone is reason enough my mom deserves this makeover but I want to tell you about two more reasons that are even more deserving. In 1998 my father passed away from cancer and this very strong women held everybody together and helped her children and grandchildren be okay with the loss of a father and grandfather that was so very dear to them. My family was devastated by this and my mother with her broken heart and all her grace held our family together so we could get past this very difficult time. Lastly, I have a Autistic great nephew whom my mother has since birth helped his parents raise. She makes sure he is eating healthy, and learning all those manners that she taught us and our children, as well as attends all his school functions, helps him with his homework (a very big struggle for a child with this disease) and tries to install as much calmness and order into this child’s life has she has control over. She should be traveling and enjoying doing her own thing but instead she plans her time around making sure our family is taken care of. We love her so much! To say that I am proud of my mother would be an understatement. My family is blessed beyond for the gift of my mother so please consider her in your quest to honor a mother who deserves a makeover. She gives and gives even when it’s not necessary.
