My biggest vice and addiction is coffee. It is just so perfectly
rich and deliciously perky.

When I stumble down the stairs in the
morning, wrapped in my robe and scuffing my slippers, my husband
greets me with a sweet kiss and whispers, "I love you."
I swipe the wild curls from my face
and whisper back, "I love coffee." Luckily he makes a mean pot of
strong, black Folgers coffee. That's how I keep the motor running
when I'm working at home. But when I'm out and about in the real
world with meetings and grown-ups, I love to treat myself to a good
cup of coffee once a week (or twice). Oh, and I love you too,
honey!
My favorite local perks are:
- Best service and remote working atmosphere is Java Network,
inside the Lakeshore Lanes Bowling Alley in Albany. They have free
wireless internet, three TVs, a fireplace and comfy chairs. I am a
regular and am motivated to work by a dry cappuccino with
sugar-free hazelnut.
- Best Mexican Mocha is at Red Horse Coffee in Corvallis, in a gorgeous
red mug (see above). And a Sweet Bean from The
Beanery in Albany and Corvallis.
- Best desserts with coffee is Sidekicks in Albany.
- Best bargain is Pacific Perk drive-thru in Albany (great
service). And McDonalds is a great place for mom and the kids
to compromise. Enjoy an inexpensive iced latte while they
play.
- Best kid's hot chocolate is Dutch
Bros - with a shot of whip cream on the straw. You rock! (from
my son)
Hey moms - what is your favorite
coffee? And where do you get it?
