Cabin fever

Winter break starts soon. Here are some fun ideas to keep the kids busy- and a chance to win an exciting Pajaggle Board Game!

Cabin Fever Activities

  • Bake cookies for the neighborhood, then have the kids help deliver packages. Last year the kids had such a great time. Neighbors called to thank us and report on the kids' progress as they made their winter trek with a red wagon full of gifts.
  • Set out a table full of craft supplies and have the kids make Christmas cards for their friends. They'll love to keep in touch during the break.
  • Can you say Thank You cards?
  • Play a game! Kids can play Pajaggle with the family, with friends and by themselves. It's a great gift idea - and a great solution for cabin fever. What is Pajaggle? Play online now.

My kids love to play the Wii and with the Wii fit we can really battle it out. We have an all out battle. It really runs out their energy too! We all get involved, even the younger kids. Lots of family fun.

WE LOVE games and puzzles at our house. Another thing my kids liked to do when they were younger was to make a "zoo" where we rounded up all the stuffed animals in the house and make a zoo in the living room. My kids would make signs for each animal section/habit, admission signs, and fake money to get into the zoo. It was a soooo fun!

We sent bowling, made jell-o jigglers, spent 2 days in seattle, played rock band , watched movies ..and last put away our Christmas Decorations....

We love to make forts out of sheets, and play games. Play doh is a big hit here as well.

We love to build a fire, get snuggly, and have movie & popcorn nights.

So far my three year old hasn't come down with cabin fever yet. She loves it when we read books and have pretend tea parties. As for me I tend to surf the net and papercraft.

    :-)

With a house full of kids I always try to have a hand full of craft items to do. I'm lucky that I have two 12 year old daughters that love to do crafty things with the other kids so that's very helpful. The most enjoyable thing is the foam kits we get at Joanne's. The one's we picked up just recently were nice little cards that the kids were able to decorate with all sorts of holiday decorations. They many different sets for all occasions. My kids just love them. They also enjoy baking cookies and making Christmas cards. They just love accomplishing the artful task of making any project! And what fun it is to see them working on them! I love it!
